Poster Competition for students at the University of Kassel

For 50 years, our Psychological Advisory Service has been there for students at the University of Kassel - whether it's a minor or major crisis, we listen, advise and help.
With our poster competition, we want to draw attention to psychological advising for students. How important it is to talk about stressful situations.

The theme of the competition is therefore:

About the competition

  • Any students who were enrolled at the University of Kassel at the start of the competition on January 29, 2024 can take part;
  • It is not possible to participate as a team;
  • Each participant is allowed to submit only one poster;
  • Poster format: DIN A1 portrait
  • Deadline for entries is April 15, 2024.

Prices

The first three places in the poster competition will be awarded with monetary prizes.


1st prize: 500 euros
2nd prize: 300 euros
3rd prize: 100 euros

About the selection process

  • All submitted posters will be checked in advance by the Studierendenwerk Kassel for compliance with the terms of participation and poster specifications.
  • The posters admitted to the competition will be presented to a jury in May 2024 (without any reference to the artist), which will then select the winners.
  • After the jury meeting, the winners will be notified by the Studierendenwerk Kassel via e-mail.

Terms and conditions

All students of the University of Kassel who were officially enrolled at the University of Kassel at the start of the competition on January 29, 2024 are allowed to participate.

 

Design guidelines

Mandatory requirements:

  • Poster format: DIN A1 portrait
  • All posters must be provided with a logo bar. We provide this bar (download logo bar) - this must not be changed.
  • To ensure the legal protection of the poster competition, no stock photos / stock graphics or Creative Commons photos / graphics may be used in the poster design. This also applies to free and royalty-free photos and/or graphics.
  • The CD color of the Studierendenwerk Kassel must be included in the poster design: CMYK 0/20/100/0, RGB 255/204/0, Pantone 123C/108 U, HKS 4K/4N

 

Amount of posters

  • Only one poster per participant can be submitted to the competition;
  • If several posters are submitted by one person and it is not clear which of them is to take part in the competition, the Studierendenwerk will decide which of the posters will be admitted to the competition.

 

How to submit posters

In order to take part in the Studierendenwerk Poster Competition, you have to send

  • Your design as a PDF,
  • a valid certificate of enrollment as a PDF and
  • your first and last name

by e-mail to inmyhead((at))studierendenwerk.uni-kassel.de by April 15, 2024, 11:59 pm at the latest.

 

Legal information

  • The entries must be received by the deadline.
  • The senders guarantee that the poster design does not violate any third-party rights or that third-party rights have been granted for the intended use.
    • Stock photos / stock graphics or Creative Commons photos / graphics are not permitted in the poster design.
    • Participants release the Studierendenwerk Kassel from all claims against third parties that are based on an infringement of rights. The associated costs also include the costs of any necessary legal representation.
    • The Studierendenwerk Kassel has the right to exclude entries from the competition if there is any doubt concerning the existence of such rights.
  • All participants declare their agreement to the Studierendenwerk Kassel to publish their posters in the context of media coverage of the competition, to document it, to present their posters at suitable events (including media coverage) as well as on Studierendenwerk premises and to reproduce them for free distribution to other student and Studierendenwerk organizations, universities and university-related institutions.
  • The participants declare their agreement that the drafts may also be published in digital form in the following media without any spatial or temporal restrictions:
    • Website of the Studierendenwerk Kassel
    • Website of the poster competition
    • Press publications
    • Publications in the social media (e.g. Instagram)
  • The authors are named in the respective context of use in accordance with § 13 Urheberrechtsgesetz (Copyright Act).
  • The granting of rights is free of charge and without restriction in terms of space, time or content. It includes the right to edit in compliance with the moral rights of the author (e.g. collages with other award-winning posters, format and image size adjustments).
  • By participating in the competition, the authors grant the Studierendenwerk Kassel an exclusive right to use their designs free of charge within the context of the poster competition.
    • The authors may only use the design for other purposes with the prior written consent of the Studierendenwerk Kassel.
    • Among other things, the posters are archived for interested persons, institutions and departments of the Studierendenwerk.
    • In the event of winning, all participants agree that the Studierendenwerk Kassel is allowed to publish the posters as well as portrait photos and the participants’ names on its website and to use them or pass them on for publication by the media/press/social media in online and offline formats.
  • By participating in the competition, all participants accept and agree to these terms and conditions. Entries that do not meet the above requirements will be excluded from the competition. No liability will be accepted for any damage caused by non-compliance.
  • Registration for the competition can be revoked up to one workday before the jury meeting by sending an email to inmyhead((at))studierendenwerk.uni-kassel.de. The date of the jury meeting will be published on the website of the poster competition.
  • Legal actions are excluded.

 

Data protection notice

By registering for the above-mentioned poster competition, you agree that the Studierendenwerk Kassel may collect personal data from you and store it for the duration of the poster competition!

As part of the poster competition, we collect and store the following data from you: Name, e-mail address, certificate of enrollment. We need your name and certificate of enrollment to ensure that you meet the requirements to participate in the poster competition. We need your e-mail address to be able to contact you.

Your data will only be used to organize the poster competition and will only be stored for the duration of the competition. As soon as the poster competition ends or you unsubscribe from the competition, we will delete your data within four weeks. Winners' data may have to be stored for longer than 4 weeks after the end of the competition if this is necessary to fulfill the terms and conditions.
