What do I have to do before I can use my CampusCard for payments?

First, you have to load money on your card at one of the charging stations offered by the Studentenwerk. You should also check the status of your card (students/ staff/ guests) and if necessary, have it corrected. Without changing the status, all CampusCards are set on ‚Äúguest‚ÄĚ status.

Students/ Staff/ Guests ‚Äďwhat is the meaning of the status entered on the CampusCard?

Only as a student or employee of the University you pay a reduced price in the canteen. It is important that the right status is entered on the Card, so that you will only have to pay the reduced price.

Where can I get the status of my CampusCard adjusted?

Students and all employees of the University can have their status adjusted at all cash points as well as at the Service Desk on the third floor of the Campus Center, located next to Zentralmensa. For having your status registered in any other way, please refer to the Kaffeebar in the Zentralmensa or to the Studentenwerk’s Service Desk. To have your status adjusted will only take one or two minutes. However, students have to show their student ID and employees of the University verify their status through a corresponding imprint on the card.

For how long will the status ‚Äústudent‚ÄĚ be valid on the CampusCard?

The status of students ist stored for one year, the status of the employees of university is valid for two years. Aferwards you have one month to renew the status. If this month has expires without having your status renewed, your card will be reset to the status ‚ÄĚguest‚ÄĚ and you have to pay the full price for your lunch in our canteens.
