  • Where can I get a CampusCard?

You can find all information pertaining to this at:

http://www.uni-kassel.de/its-handbuch/identitaetsmanagement/campuscard/allgemeine-informationen.html

  • What do I have to do before I can use my CampusCard for payments?

First, you have to load money on your card at one of the charging stations offered by the Studentenwerk. You should also check the "Mensa-Status" of your card (students/ staff/ trainees/apprentices/guests) and if necessary, have it corrected. Without changing the "Mensa-Status", all CampusCards are set on "Mensa-Status Guest‚ÄĚ.

  • Where can I get the "Mensa-Status" of my CampusCard adjusted or extended?

On Campus Holl√§ndischer Platz, students, employees of the university and the Studentenwerk, trainees, aspirants and interns with a valid university account can update or extend the "Mensa-Status" entry on their CampusCards themselves: Two validation stations are available on the ground floor of the Campus Center in Moritzstra√üe for this purpose. They hang next to the screen with the NVV timetable information.  The "Mensa-Status" update takes about 20 seconds.
At the other campusses of the University of Kassel, "Mensa-Status" updates can be made at all cash desks in canteens and cafeterias. Students must present their student ID, university employees can prove their "Mensa status" by means of a corresponding imprint on the card. Students of the Kassel School of Medicine and employees of the Studentenwerk who do not have a university account update the "Mensa-Status" of their CampusCard at the information desk of the Studentenwerk on level 3 of the Campus Center.

  • What is the meaning of the "Mensa-Status" imprinted on the CampusCard?

Only as a student, employee, trainee or apprentice of the University you pay a reduced price in the canteen (= Mensa). It is important that the right "Mensa-Status" is entered on the Card, so that you will only have to pay the reduced price.

You will find the "Mensa Status" entry at the bottom right of your card next to the NVV logo. There you will also find the date for the next update (=validation) of the entered "Mensa-Status".

These are the different types of "Mensa-Status":

  • "Studierende/r" = Students
  • "Bedienstete/r" = Employees of the University of Kassel
  • "Bedienstete/r (A)" = Trainees, Aspirants and interns of the University of Kassel
  • "Bedienstete/r (S)" = Employees of the Studentenwerk Kassel
  • "Gast" = Guests of the University of Kassel

  • What do I have to do if the wrong "Mensa-Status" was entered when updating?

The IT Service Centre (ITS) of the University of Kassel is responsible for the correct "Mensa-Status" entry. If you have any problems, please send an e-mail to campuscard((at))uni-kassel.de or call +49 561 804 5678.

  • Error message "Karte nicht aktiviert" - "Card not activated"?

If you receive this error message when updating or extending the "Mensa-Status" entry of your CampusCard, the card has not yet been activated. Therefore, the "Mensa-Status" cannot be updated or extended (=validated). You will find information on this on the information sheet that you received together with the CampusCard.

  • For how long will the "Mensa-Status Student" be valid on the CampusCard?

Since the winter semester 2018/2019, the "Mensa-Status" is valid for six months. After that, you still have one month to have the "Mensa-Status" updated. After this period has expired, you will receive the error message "Your card has definitely expired" at the cash desks of the canteens and cafeterias. After that the card is only valid for payments in the library and at photocopiers. At the cash desks of canteens and cafeterias you can only pay with the card again after updating the "Mensa-Status".

  • Does the Studentenwerk save my data?
